Born of a small village's wish for better teachers.
In 2007, a group of educators and farmers in Settihalli met under a tamarind tree and asked a simple question: why must every well-trained teacher leave for the city? A year later, with the blessings of the local panchayat and the patronage of our founder Thiru. K. Gokulakrishnan, the first batch of forty students walked into a half-finished classroom.
The classroom is no longer half-finished. Seventeen years on, we run a fully equipped, NCTE-recognised B.Ed programme — but the question that started us has not changed. Most of our graduates still teach in Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Salem and Hosur districts. They are exactly the teachers our villages always needed.
Vision & Mission
Vision
To shape teachers who are intellectually rigorous, ethically grounded and deeply rooted in the communities they serve — so that every child in Tamil Nadu, especially in our rural districts, receives the schooling they deserve.
Mission
- To deliver a B.Ed programme of the highest academic standard, aligned with NCTE and TNTEU frameworks.
- To pair every student-teacher with a mentor and a real classroom, from day one.
- To strengthen government and aided schools in our region through alumni placement and outreach.
- To make teacher education accessible — through scholarships, hostels and women-first admissions.
What we ask of ourselves, and of every student.
01 · Karuṇā
Compassion
A teacher who cannot see the child in front of her is not yet a teacher. We begin and end with this.
02 · Vidyā
Rigour
Subject mastery is not optional. Our students are asked to know their subject as deeply as they teach it.
03 · Satya
Integrity
No cheating, no shortcuts, no plagiarised lesson plans. A teacher's word matters.
04 · Sevā
Service
Teaching is a vocation, not a job. We celebrate the alumni who choose to teach in remote schools.
05 · Jijñāsā
Curiosity
A teacher who stops being a learner has stopped being a teacher. We keep reading; so will our students.
